While working at First Media, I spent approximately six months creating a series of flash interactive learning programs to be put on their internal site and connected to an LMS. They needed to stay in keeping with ones that had been done before, so there was a template in place, although they also needed to be different, as the client has asked them to be a little more edgy compare to the older ones.
I created mud splatters in illustrator, took photos of grass, stood on pieces of paper, and generally gave the feel of the work being taken out to the football pitch and kicked around for a while. At one point, to meet the deadline, one of these a day were being created, with almost 150 being made before the end. They incorporated drag and drop, click to reveal and flash video, the video being loaded in a specially created container based on an iPhone.

A small gif I created for the Antiques Trade Gazette:
This was a last minute ad due to advert space becoming free online. Think this took about 1/2 – 3/4 of an hour, including the photoshop cutouts of the stone elephants which were part of another auction. I’d unwisely said something like “wouldn’t it be nice if the bums wiggle?”

Last year, I was working freelance, a position that isn’t without its pains, and greatly enhanced by a move to London. I had been contracting for Radius Designs, which was a small digital agency in Macclesfield, a contract which ran for one month to three. The website itself was drastically in need of an update, so I was asked to redesign. Radius designs itself went into administration while I was there, leaving me more than a little out of pocket. However, I came up with a set of designs for the site which never happened, with elements that I occasionally pilfer (I mean refer to) for other jobs.
This site would have been quite splendid…

I was very kindly invited to take part in a collective exhibition of artwork for a gallery in Barcelona, called Art Cubik a few years ago. The three pieces I created were digital, using elements of photography, scanning, 3D modelling and general experimentation. I composited the elements together in photoshop, printed them out, scratched into / painted onto / stuck bits on (and tore bits off) until I came up with these.

Excuse the photograph…
This folder was designed in part as a cover for promotional material, in part to keep documents in for meetings, and in part to do generally foldery things like folders generally do. I was trying to define the brand under difficult circumstances, as all the company really used was a logo, and although there were two pantone swatch colours defined, they seemed to often be missed and no-one could really agree on what it should be. I was experimenting with the blue on white curve and variations of it, which seemed to be very popular.
The folder also has a reversed image on the inside which reflects the outside perfectly, an idea I carried across to the business cards.
